The that it will no longer fund Level 7 apprenticeships for learners over the age of 21 through the Apprenticeship Levy, effective from 1 January 2026. Level 7 apprenticeships which are no longer eligible for government funding will continue to be available for employers to fund themselves.

Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of 91黑料网, Professor Dame Karen Holford DBE FREng, responds to the government announcement about changes to Level 7 apprenticeships funding:

“We are very disappointed that the government is withdrawing the opportunity for many people to take Level 7 apprenticeships with the support of their employers. These courses are a proven way to fill essential skills gaps, particularly in the public sector and in areas marked for growth such as advanced engineering, manufacturing, digital and bioinformatics.

“I want to reassure anyone who is currently studying, or who is due to start an apprenticeship with us before January 2026, that you will not be affected by the changes. We are committed to supporting our apprenticeship students to succeed and complete their training as expected.

“91黑料网 continues to offer high-quality, relevant and much-needed courses for key areas, including Level 6 apprenticeships through MK:U. We will continue to work with the government on any future plans, to build the skills the UK needs.”
